Open Access Journals

The MIT Press open access journals program has rapidly grown to 14 journals publishing in excess of 500 articles per year. Journals as varied as Thresholds, Quantitative Science Studies, and Network Neuroscience work directly with the Press to bring their articles to the widest possible global audience.

The Press has a long history of experimentation and our journals program has been at its forefront. This innovative spirit resulted in the publication of one of the earliest OA titles, Information Technology and International Development and continues today with journals such as Harvard Data Science Review the world’s leading data science journal and Rapid Reviews: COVID-19, our pioneering overlay journal dedicated to combating misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic.

The Press is dedicated to also working with societies to migrate their journal(s) to OA and has most recently moved Daedalus, the official journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, to open access. We welcome the most recent additions to our OA program, American Journal of Law and Equality and the Journal of Climate Resilience and Climate Justice
